Sunday Morning Music: the Streets of Bakersfield

January 12, 2014 Leave a comment Go to comments

A town with a rich musical history, Bakersfield has made its way into lots of songs. “The Streets of Bakersfield,” performed by one of the town’s most well-known exports, Buck Owens, and his young prodigy Dwight Yoakam, gives a nice little nod to the area. So next time you’re passing through, toss this one on the player and know that the oft-overlooked Bakersfield has brought us a whole lot of great music. Then toss on some Merle Haggard to seal the deal.
