Hurricane Sandy Didn’t Stop Norton Records

Norton

by Raul

After a devastating blow to its Brooklyn warehouse by Hurricane Sandy, Norton Records has come back hard with a slew of new releases.

First, we have a double 7″ of Kim Fowley poems put to song by Mick Collins and Dan Kroha of the Gories, followed by a new addition to the Stones’ tribute series of split 7″s with LaLa Brooks of The Crystals fame giving her rendition of “Play With Fire.” The flip is the Piggies’ version of “The Parachute Woman” from Beggars Banquet.

Next, we have a ’60s rock n roll screamer by Sur Royal Da Count & the Parliments and last but not least for new singles is Sonics, giving us revved up versions of “Do You Love Me” by the Contours and “Money” by Barrett Strong

Norton Records has also given us proof that you can’t kill rock n roll, by restocking us with some hard hitting titles that survived the flood.
