Sunday Morning Music: Guy Clark

Yesterday I tossed on an old Guy Clark album and was reminded how much I love him. He’s an expert song-crafter who masterfully weaves life-changing observations about life and love into story-songs that vibrate with an intense humanness.

I first heard Guy’s music when he played a double-bill with Mary Gauthier at the Kuumbwa years ago, and I was a fan from the first song. His gravelly delivery, grouchy old bear with a tender heart demeanor, and commitment to telling the truth through music made me an instant, lifelong fan and he hasn’t disappointed yet. Here are a few of my favorites:
