Time to Break the Piggy Bank

Somewhere between the Jackson 5 and those unfortunate tabloid years, Michael Jackson was the king of pop. He didn’t make a move or wear an outfit without creating a ripple around the planet. During his peak years he dropped “Thriller” on us and changed the way that pop music was seen. The extended video for the song was a spooky and charming short film that pushed the boundaries of what a music video could be and had legions of fans doing the zombie dance. We all wanted to dance and sound and look just like Michael. Now, finally, we have our chance.
In an upcoming celebrity auction featuring items once owned or used by Frank Sinatra, Madonna, the Beatles, Kurt Cobain, Johnny Cash and many more, Michael’s Thriller jacket will go to the highest bidder. It’s expected to fetch $200,000 to $400,000 and according to CNN, a portion of the proceeds will go to an animal shelter outside of Los Angeles that currently houses Michael’s two Bengal tigers, Thriller and Shabu.
Time to roll those pennies, check the sofa and break open that piggy bank because really, how often does a chance like this come around?
